The deputy spokesperson of the National Unity Platform (NUP), Waiswa Mufumbiro, has been arrested and is currently detained at Kira Police Station, prompting renewed calls for the government to uphold the rule of law.
According to Hon. Ronald Balimwezo, the Nakawa East legislator, Mufumbiro was picked up on Sunday by plain-clothed security personnel who told him he was being taken to Wandegeya Police Station.Former Deputy RCC Rubaga, Anderson Burora, underscored the importance of due process, warning that any deviation undermines public trust in state institutions.
“As leaders, we need the rule of law, and we must always demand that the government operate within it,” he said.
